HOW TO GRADE PAPERBACK BOOKS

GRADING STANDARDS

CONDITION: Condition is extremely important to many who collect SF material. Therefore, I carefully grade each item, being conservative when in doubt.

  • VERY FINE A nearly new paperback; may have been read but no cover crease is obvious. No markings or imprints.
  • FINE Excellent condition, with no tears or creases. Lustre remaining on laminated covers, pages closer to white than yellow. No tape anywhere, very slight wear-item has been read but carefully. Cover crease may be visible upon close inspection, but is not dominant.
  • VERY GOOD Shows some signs of wear. May have minor creases or very slight spine roll. Paper not as white as fine.
  • GOOD An average copy showing and considerable wear, though not yet falling apart. May be taped. Spine may be coming loose top and bottom. Pages more yellow than white. Heavy creases in cover.

Have you had a look at Amazon's latest reader? It's quite an improvement over the previous Kindle.

Remember that Amazon sells far more than books these days. I bought my last printer through Amazon. I priced the printer at Best Buy, and then found it for a cheaper price on Amazon and it happened to be offered with free shipping. It was also free of state sales tax, so I saved over $20 overall. I have also purchased items from kitchen utensials to tire pressure gages on Amazon.
